Surgical Implantation of the Suture-Less Inflow Cannula, Off-Pump

This video demonstrates the off-pump in vivo implantation of the SLIC device, a cannula developed for LVAD implantation without cardiopulmonary bypass (off-pump). The procedure aims to reduce surgical invasiveness and avoid the use of bypass. The steps include: (1) holding the SLIC device, (2) exposing and coring the LV apex, (3) inserting the SLIC, (4) retracting the handle to secure the device against the myocardium, (5) removing the handle while sealing the device with a thumb, and (6) plugging the SLIC. Audio and all identifiable features have been removed to comply with ethical standards. Ethics approval was granted by the Alfred Research Alliance Animal Ethics Committee (AEC B), project P8582.
