HRWP Mean Index of Biotic Integrity (IBI) Health Ratings for Fish Communities_current

The Index of Biotic Integrity (IBI) score for each site in each year (current period: 2012-2022) was calculated following a modification of the Steedman (1998) methodology. Modifications to the index calculation included removing the presence of blackspot disease as a sign of poor quality which reduced the maximum IBI score from 50 to 45. Four health rating classes were used to interpret the scores, including: ‘poor’ (IBI ≤ 20), ‘fair’ (IBI = 20-27.9), ‘good’ (IBI = 28-37.9) and ‘very good’ (IBI = 38-45). Data collected at RWMP sites following OSAP method.
