Metagenomic analysis of plastic debris from the North Atlantic and North Pacific garbage patches. marine metagenome

Plastic debris samples have been collected from the North Atlantic and North Pacific garbage patches in summer 2019. DNA was extracted from those samples and subjected to metagenomic sequencing. The resulting data was binned into MAGs to obtain insights into the community structure and functional capacities of the Plastisphere from these pollution hotspots.
