Vietnam pig chain in 2013: Spread of multidrug-resistance Salmonella serovar Derby and Rissen

Here, we report an analysis of 13 S. Derby and 10 S. Rissen isolates, collected in 2013 at different stages in slaughterhouses and wet markets in Vietnam. Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) was used to detect antibiotic resistance genes and plasmids. The genetic diversity s of the strains were analyzed by single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Besides one IncH multidrug-resistance plasmid was extracted and compared to all positive strains for comparison between strains. The results enable us to know the genetic diversity of antibiotic resistance in S. Derby and S. Rissen and their dissemination in the pig chain in 2013.
