资源简介:
RMBA anomalies were digitized from Maia and Gente (1998) and used by Cann et al. (2015) to interpret the tectonic evolution of 200 km of Mid-Atlantic Ridge over 10 million years and the interplay of volcanism and faulting. The gravity data were collected during two cruises, RC2511 (Detrick et al., 1984) and SEADMA I (Gente et al., 1995) and combined with available data sets from NOAA - National Centers for Environmental Information, and the 1991 SIGMA cruise (from the Banque de Bathymetrie et Geophysique Marine (SISMER) data bank, France). Processing of the data is described in Maia and Gente (1998). The MBA was computed assuming a constant crustal thickness model (Prince and Forsyth, 1988) using the method of Parker (1973). Crustal thickness was assumed to be 6 km. Densities of seawater, crust and mantle were considered constant (1030, 2700, and 3300 kg/m3, respectively). The thermal correction was computed using a passive flow model (Phipps Morgan and Forsyth, 1988) to obtain the RMBA. The data file is in GMT-compatible netCDF grid format.
