VPRS 12086 Outward Memoranda (Promotions and Increments Board, Ways and Works Branch); Outward Correspondence (Inter-Branch Committee)

Two series are recorded within this volume.The first series was created by the Promotions and Increments Board. This Board met to consider issues including wages and duties of employees within the Ways and Works Branch. The Board interviewed applicants for positions, and prepared reports on applicants, with scores and comments as to their suitability or otherwise. The Board also heard cases and made rulings, for example when railways employees requested pay increases.The items in this series are memoranda created by the Chairman, Promotions & Increments Board, for the Chief Engineer of Way & Works.The other series in this volume consists of outward correspondence (letters and memoranda) created by the Inter Branch Committee.
