The 8mm Scharfe Patrone M1893 was the standard issue fully powered cartridge during the First World War. It was Austria-Hungary's first fully smokeless powder cartridge, but by by the time of the first world war it was already outdated, rendered obsolete after Spitzer rounds have been introduced.
