Desulfovibrio subterraneus Genome sequencing. Desulfovibrio subterraneus

The anaerobic sulfate-reducing bacteria Desulfovibrio subterraneus ND17 is widely distributed in anaerobic environments with a wide range of hydrocarbon degradation substrates. The strain ND17 could utilize multiple electron donors and electron acceptors to adapt to complex environments. The genomic data presented here could provide fundamental insights to better understand the physiological characteristics of D.subterraneus ND17, the ecological significance of petroleum hydrocarbon degradation, and its effects on the cycle of carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur cycle.
