Stress–dominance and niche conservatism in epiphytic and lithophytic bromeliads along a coastal–inland gradient
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains the data and R scripts used in the study: Fávero, A. A. and Waechter, J. L. Stress–dominance and niche conservatism in epiphytic and lithophytic bromeliads along a coastal–inland gradient (Journal of Vegetation Science). The dataset supports analyses of community assembly in bromeliad assemblages along a 600-km coastal–inland gradient in southern Brazil, focusing on the roles of environmental filtering, stress–dominance hypothesis (SDH), and phylogenetic niche conservatism (PNC). Contents: - Species composition matrices for epiphytic and lithophytic assemblages (71 sites; 61 species)- Phylogenetic trees (Newick format) for epiphytes and lithophytes- Environmental variables (climatic predictors and distance from the coastline)- Species trait data (rosette type, rosette size, and photosynthetic pathway)- Spatial data- Habitat specialization data- Derived dataset linking NRI to environmental variables- Fully documented R scripts reproducing all analyses Analytical workflow includes:- Phylogenetic reconstruction and tree standardization- Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and correlation analyses- Variance Inflation Factor (VIF) assessment- Phylogenetic RLQ (pRLQ) and fourth-corner analyses- Net Relatedness Index (NRI) calculations- Regression analyses along environmental gradients All data are provided as plain-text (.txt) files and are organized to allow direct execution in R without modification. Scripts are fully commented and follow a structured workflow to ensure reproducibility. A detailed README file is included, describing file organization, workflow, and step-by-step instructions to reproduce all analyses.
