资源简介:
Background: [extract from related publication]Relatively little is known about the functions of the diverse tooth morphologies observed in fishes. We describe the function of teeth within piscivorous fishes by considering how morphological and behavioural traits interact during prey capture and processing. This data set contains: 1 MS Excel (.xlsx.) file containing 18 individual specimens of reef fishes which were used in performance experiments. Data was used in PPCA (Phylogenetic principal component analysis) and PGLS (Phylogenetic generalised least squares). For column headers: AM_new (relative adductor mandibular mass), Prot (relative protrusion length), c (relative horizontal oral gape). All data is in proportion (relative to body size and mass of fish). MS Excel worksheets have also been saved and archived in OpenDocument (.ods) format. An extensive summary is available in the Open Access publication from the Related publications link below.
