Label Animal Friendly City

Since 2020, the Region has distinguished with the label “Friend City of Animals”, from 1 to 3 legs, the municipalities of Paris that work to protect pets, against abuse and abandonment.

## Label criteria

The following shall be taken into account for the award of the label:

* **the overall approach** of the communal valuation of the place given to pets,

* ** actions to raise awareness**, to inform and promote this approach to the population,
* **support to animal protection associations** engaged in the municipal territory,
* **the creation of public equipment**,
* **support for the most vulnerable**,
* **animal mediation actions**.

## Three lines of engagement for candidate cities

To become an animal friendly city, a candidate commune must engage in 3 axes of action:

1. **Promote respect for animal welfare**.
_Examples: create a special delegation, train municipal police officers, facilitate the adoption of lost animals..._

2. **Value the place of pets within the city**.
_Examples: develop walking spaces, “caniparcs” (spaces for dogs), nest boxes, cemeteries for animals...
_

3. **Strengthen the place of the pet with fragile citizens**.
_Examples: support the presence of pets in hospitalised persons or living in accommodation facilities for the elderly dependent (Ehpad), set up a veterinary mutual, a solidarity animal grocery store..._

自2020年起，该区域将"动物友好城市（Friend City of Animals）"称号授予巴黎市内1至3个致力于保护宠物、防范虐待与遗弃行为的市镇。

### 称号授予标准
授予该称号时需综合考量以下维度：
1. **市镇层面针对宠物的整体管理与价值定位方案**
2. **面向公众开展的宣传、科普与推广行动**
3. **对辖区内动物保护协会的扶持举措**
4. **公共配套设施的建设**
5. **对弱势群体的帮扶支持**
6. **动物调解相关行动**

### 候选城市的三大行动方向
欲获评动物友好城市，候选市镇需围绕三大行动轴线开展工作：
1. **倡导尊重动物福利**。示例：设立专项工作组、培训市政警务人员、协助流浪动物领养等。
2. **提升宠物在城市中的空间地位与权益**。示例：增设宠物步行专属区域、"狗狗公园（caniparcs）"、宠物窝箱、动物墓园等。
3. **保障脆弱群体与宠物共处的权益**。示例：支持住院患者或入住依赖型老年护理院（Ehpad）的人群携带宠物，设立兽医互助计划、公益宠物用品商店等。
