The promonocytic cell line U1, which contains the HIV-1 proviral sequence, and its parent uninfected promocytic cell line U937, were incubated with Dopamine 10uM or with 1 uM of the dopamine-induced Monocyte Related Protein (MRP) 8/14. The cells were stimulated for 24 hrs and then harvested for a 10X Genomics single cell approach for the detection of transcriptional patterns associated with viral replication phenotypes. Overall design: U1 or U937 cells were plated at 10^6/ml in 6 well plates and then stimulated with Dopamine or selective agonists for 24hrs. The experiments were performed in biological and technical replicates.
