Infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV) is a pathogen that severely endangers salmon and trout species, causing significant economic losses to the global salmon farming industry. Recombinant glycoprotein (G protein) vaccine is one of the effective means to prevent IHNV. However, apart from triggering a specific immune response, the potential side - effects of vaccine injection on the host, especially on the intestine, an important organ for immunity and microbial habitation, remain unclear. This study aims to investigate the impact of injecting the recombinant IHNV - G vaccine on the structure and function of the intestinal microbiota in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).
