Active Deformation Areas (ADAs) derived from EGMS data for groundwater-related subsidence screening in Spain

This dataset contains 983 Active Deformation Areas (ADAs) identified from European Ground Motion Service (EGMS) ground-deformation data within the boundaries of Spanish Groundwater Bodies (GWBs).The dataset corresponds to the initial ADA inventory obtained using the ADAfinder parameterization adopted in the associated study, prior to the application of the subsequent spatial and quality filtering procedure. Therefore, the ADAs included here should not be interpreted as deformation areas attributed to groundwater exploitation. They represent the initial deformation inventory from which potentially groundwater-related deformation was subsequently screened in the associated study.An ADA is defined as a polygon resulting from the aggregation of multiple InSAR Measurement Points (MPs) showing significant ground motion within a limited spatial neighbourhood (Barra et al., 2017; Monserrat et al., 2024).
