This dataset was constructed for research on multimodal text generation of Points of Interest (POIs) in leisure walking contexts.Data collected from the WalkingMaps platform (https://walkingmaps.com.au) Each POI entry includes:Title and user-generated descriptionGeographic coordinates (latitude, longitude)Associated images contributed by walkersThe dataset was compiled and curated as part of a Master’s thesis at the University of Melbourne (2025).Potential uses include multimodal learning, geospatial text analysis, and natural language generation for location-based applications.
