Ice thickness, snow depth and lake properties for sampled lakes in and around the Trail Valley Creek watershed, NT

This dataset contains ice thickness, snow depth and lake properties for various lakes spanning a ~70 km stretch of the Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk Highway (ITH) near the Trail Valley Creek watershed, which is approximately 50 km north of Inuvik, NT, Canada, in the low Arctic tundra. <p><p>

The data file “lakes_sampled_all” contains lake depth, ice thickness, and snow depth data which was collected between March 21 and May 1 in 2018, and between April 26 and May 5 in 2019. Lake properties and the type of lake ice regime was noted when possible. A hole was drilled into the ice of the approximate centre of each sampled lake in order to measure lake ice thickness, and lake depth. Lake depth was measured from the lakebed to the top of the ice. At this centre location, snow depth on top of the lake ice was also recorded.
