A random partial genome pyrosequencing approach was performed on strain CECT 8227 using a GS Junior (Roche) sequencing instrument at the Central Service of Support to Experimental Research (SCSIE) of the University of Valencia. Calculation of ANI according to MUMmer (ANIm) and BLAST (ANIb) between assembled data and L. vini DSM 20605 (AHYZ01000001- AHYZ01000220), performed on JSpecies as described in Richter & Rosselló-Móra (2009), yielded low values and supported the description of Lactobacillus siceri sp. nov., type strain CECT 8227
