资源简介:
This study is part of a project to sequence and analyze the complete genome of Enterobacter cloacae complex using Illumina sequencing technology. It focuses on a 58-year-old female patient with multiple risk factors, including anatomical abnormalities of the left ureter, repeated endo-urological procedures, prolonged double J stent placement, and poor hygiene practices. The patient also has hyperparathyroidism, hypercalciuria, and hypocitraturia, contributing to the formation of infected urinary stones. Recurrent urinary tract infections with E. coli BLSE+ led to the discovery of an Enterobacter cloacae complex strain in the stone culture, showing resistance through hyperproduction of cephalosporinases.Whole genome sequencing (WGS) of this strain, isolated from a pure and abundant culture (>= 10^3 CFU/mL), revealed a new species, Enterobacter hormaechei. Raw sequencing data were analyzed using bioinformatics tools, including FastQC and others designed for genomic analysis. This is a preliminary and novel genomic study of this specific strain, with ongoing analysis due to the complexity and richness of the data. The goal is to identify antibiotic resistance and virulence factors to better understand the mechanisms driving these persistent infections.
