J-AESOP Rating Data (6_01 & 6_02)

This dataset contains the perceptual rating data for English (Task 6_01) and Japanese (Task 6_02) speech from the J-AESOP corpus (Kondo et al., 2015).

Rating 6_01.csv contains 10-point ratings of all speakers' English speech for segmental accuracy, prosody, fluency, and nativelikeness. The raters were native listners of American English (n = 4), Japanese (n = 4), and other Asian (n = 4) and European (n = 4) languages. The data were collected as part of Konishi (2022).

Rating 6_02.csv contains 100-point ratings of all speakers' Japanese speech for foreign accentedness and comprehensibility. The raters were all native listeners of Japanese (n = 26). Of these, 10 were recruited as part of Yazawa et al. (2023) and the remaining 16 were additionally recruited as part of Yazawa et al. (2024).
