microRNA expression profile in EpCAM(-) exosomes, isolated from the ascitic fluid of Human ovarian cancer patient. Homo sapiens

In order to get an insight into the complex interplay of miRNAs of the ascitic fluid with human ovarian cancer cells, we have determined the enrichment of small RNAs present in EpCAM(-) exosomes of the ascitic fluid samples in human ovarian cancer patients. Initially, crude exosomes were isolated from cell-free ascitic fluid, following that non-tumor cells secreted exosomes were isolated based on flow-based sorting of the particles possing EpCAM expression in their membrane. Total mRNAs were isolated from this exosomes using miRCURY RNA isolation kit. These RNA samples were subjected to QC, Next Generation sequencing and mapping to HG19 human genome and miRBase data base.
