Mangrove Terrapin Mark Recapture Study data

In 2001 a mark-recapture study on mangrove terrapins (Malaclemys terrapin) in the Big Sable Creek (BSC) complex within Everglades National Park was initiated. The summary data for terrapins in BSC were collected over 5 sampling trips in a two-year period (November 2001 - October 2003) and from analysis of individual terrapin capture histories. Study objectives were to estimate adult survival probablility, capture probablilty, and abundance of terrapins at this study site. This allowed the establishment of the first baseline assessment for mangrove terrapins in the coastal Everglades.
