The Mongolia Soil Moisture Data consists of 43 stations in Mongolia,
for the period 1970-1993 (Robock, et al. 1999). Sites have pasture
vegetation or wheat (or both). Observations were taken using the
gravimetric technique for each 10-cm layer down to a depth of 1 m,
with the first layer divided into two 5-cm layers.
The Mongolia soil moisture data is part of the Global Soil Moisture
Data Bank and is freely available via ftp from:

or ftp climate.envsci.rutgers.edu
