本数据产品中的蒸散发指陆表实际蒸散发量,是植被蒸腾、植被冠层截留蒸发、土壤蒸发、水体蒸发和冰雪升华的总和。蒸散发是水循环的关键环节,是能量平衡的重要支出项,与陆地生态系统碳收支密切相关。准确估算陆表蒸散发不仅对研究地球系统水循环和能量交换过程具有重要意义,而且对水资源有效开发利用、农作物需水生产管理、旱情监测预测等领域具有重要的应用价值。 本数据产品采用ETMonitor模型并结合多源遥感数据及再分析数据而生成。ETMonitor遥感蒸散发模型基于能量平衡、水量平衡及植物生理过程等主控陆表能量与水分交换的机制机理,分别对蒸散发分量建立参数化方案,从而估算像元尺度蒸散发分量,并累积获得像元陆表实际蒸散发总量。采用分布在全球的251个通量站点(涵盖多种陆地生态系统以及水体和冰雪表面等)观测数据对该产品进行验证,结果表明ETMonitor逐日蒸散发结果的均方根误差RMSE为0.93毫米/日。蒸散发的单位为毫米/日,转换系数为0.01。

In this data product, evapotranspiration (ET) refers to land surface actual evapotranspiration, which is the sum of vegetation transpiration, vegetation canopy interception evaporation, soil evaporation, open water evaporation and snow and ice sublimation. Evapotranspiration is a key link in the global water cycle and a major outgoing term in the Earth’s energy budget, and is closely correlated with the carbon budget of terrestrial ecosystems. Accurate estimation of land surface evapotranspiration is not only of great significance for studying the Earth system’s water cycle and energy exchange processes, but also holds important application value in fields including effective development and utilization of water resources, crop water demand management for agricultural production, drought monitoring and prediction, and others. This data product is generated using the ETMonitor model combined with multi-source remote sensing data and reanalysis data. The ETMonitor remote sensing evapotranspiration model is based on the core mechanisms governing land surface energy and water exchange, including energy balance, water balance and plant physiological processes. It develops parametric schemes for each evapotranspiration component to estimate the evapotranspiration fluxes at the pixel scale, and accumulates these components to obtain the total actual land surface evapotranspiration per pixel. This product was validated against observation data from 251 global flux stations, which cover various terrestrial ecosystems, open water bodies, snow and ice surfaces, and other surface types. The validation results show that the root mean square error (RMSE) of the daily evapotranspiration outputs from ETMonitor is 0.93 mm/day. The unit of evapotranspiration is millimeters per day, and the conversion coefficient is 0.01.
