Replication Data for: Reviving Legislative Avenues for Gerrymandering Reform with a Flexible, Automated Tool

This repository contains replication materials for “Reviving Legislative Avenues for Gerrymandering Reform with a Flexible, Automated Tool.” There are three parts to this dataset, which are hosted both here and on GitHub (split between two) repositories. The GitHub READMEs are extensively hyperlinked, and may be easier to follow than the files here. The C4 package, its inputs, and the database preparation scripts used to create them. This software is C4 software is also loaded to JamesSaxon/c4 on GitHub (hash 12eb829) and it can be run as a \"one-liner\" from DockerHub. All of this is within the c4.tar.bz2 file. Voting data, deriver from Ansolabehere, Palmer, Lee, 2014 and Ansolabehere and Rodden, 2011, along with data from a number of states. And finally, data and analysis scripts for generating the tables and figures of the paper, in a JamesSaxon/district_analysis GitHub repo (hash 1470afd) that also contains the scripts for processing the voting data. The entire latter two pieces are in the compressed file district_analysis.tar.bz2. Note that there are, in data/splits/ of that file, three state-level regionalization files that are not contained on the GitHub because they were too large to be uploaded there. In addition, example output (maps) can be viewed interactively, on my website.
