Site Specific Oral Dysbiosis May Play a Significant Role in the Pathogenesis of Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Our study demonstrates differences in the structures of oral and gut microbial communities between HC and IBD disease status, active or inactive, as well as dieseas type, specifically CD. These data suggest that oral and gut dysbiosis could play a role in the pathogenesis of IBD and may co-function as an important noninvasive clinical marker.
