We aim to establish an efficient method for sequencing the whole genome of historical lichen specimens. The DNA extracted from historical Cladonia specimens of was sequenced and the reads were aligned to the reference genome of the fungal partner (mycobiont) and the algal partner (photobiont) of Cladonia kurokawae.
