Osteological and Spatial Data from the Burial Ground of St. Peter's Church in Tønsberg, Norway

This dataset contains vectorized and georeferenced osteological data from the medieval burial ground of St. Peter’s Church (Peterskirken) in Tønsberg, Norway.The data derive from excavations conducted in 1983 and 1985, during which skeletal remains of more than 1,000 individuals were recorded and later analyzed at the Anatomical Institute, University of Oslo. The published dataset includes 407 individuals, each represented by one record with excavation identifiers, spatial coordinates (ETRS89 / UTM zone 32N), estimated biological sex, age category, age range, stature (where available), and calculated distance to the nearest point of the church wall.Sex and age estimations are based on morphological evaluation following Holck (1989) and Sælebakke (1986). The dataset was digitized, vectorized, and manually georeferenced in QGIS, aligning original excavation drawings with modern spatial references. The estimated spatial accuracy is ±2 m.
