Natural seawater was collected from Oeresund between Sweden and Denmark and filtered at 3 mikron. The resulting natural microbiome was introduced to three host microalgae; Isochrysis galbana, Tetraselmis suecica, and Conticribra weissflogii (previously Thalassiosira). The microbiomes were then allowed to assemble for 49 days before being shotgun sequenced on an Illumina Novaseq 6000 instrument, 150bp PE.
