Loudoun County Property Suitability Analysis

The dashboard includes the results of an analysis performed by the Loudoun County Department of Housing and Community Development, Office of Real Property, Asset Management and Planning, and the Loudoun County Public Schools Division of Planning and GIS to classify Loudoun County and Loudoun County Public Schools-owned properties for the suitability for the development of attainable housing. The Suitability Classification includes the following categories: Not Suitable – the property is fully encumbered by environmental features (e.g., floodplain and river and stream corridor) or a conservation easement. Potentially Suitable – the property is fully or partially developed with an existing use or is already planned for future development. Suitable – the property is only partially encumbered with environmental features or a conservation easement, does not include an existing use, and is not planned for future development. The Development Opportunity includes the following categories: New Construction - development of housing on vacant land. Redevelopment - development of housing that would require the demolition and/or replacement of an existing use. Adaptive Reuse - conversion or repurposing of an existing structure into residential housing, rather than demolishing it. The dashboard includes a variety of other data and features including the ability to filter properties by owner, suitability classification, and election district, as well as other planning related geographic datasets that may be turned on and off for additional analysis.
