资源简介:
The decline of biodiversity is particularly damaging to subtropical dry forests and woodlands. Apart from the Kafue National Park, most woodlands in the southern Zambezian biogeographical region have been converted to agriculture and cattle farming through fragmentation and transformation processes. The objective of this survey was to provide evidence to local decision-makers on the benefit of using bird assemblages for landscape health monitoring and managing fragmented Mopane and Miombo woodlands, explicitly looking for potential indicator species. Nine four-day field campaigns were conducted in 2023 using 10-minute point count recordings along transects in Mopane, Miombo and Hill Miombo woodlands in the very fragmented Kalomo District, South Zambia.
