This data set comprises reaction time data from an object-identification study.
Participants were requested to look at a picture and to identify the object. Prior to this, they read either an event or a state sentence with the respective object. We hypothesized that pictures depicting the object in a state that matched the pre-state of an event sentence (a picture of a green tomato after the event sentence 'Die Tomate wurde rot.' 'The tomato became red.') should be identified faster than after have been reading a state sentence (Die Tomate war rot.' 'The tomato was red.'). As a control, we used a picture with an object that matched the state denoted by the event and state sentence (a red tomato).
