KYTC - Snow and Ice Priority Routes

This interactive map displays all state routes monitored and maintained by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) for snow and ice removal during inclement weather. Each route is categorized by snow removal priority to ensure safe and efficient travel during winter storms: • Priority A: Interstates, parkways, and major roads with the highest traffic volumes. These routes are treated first, with a goal of a one-hour turnaround on interstates and two-hour turnaround on other A routes. • Priority B: Highways with moderate traffic volumes, treated next with a goal of a four-hour turnaround during routine storms. • Priority C: Low-volume and rural roads, treated last with a goal of completion within 16 hours of a routine snow event, unless overnight conditions make treatment unsafe or ineffective.
