Germ-free wild-type mice (GFWT) were inoculated with the commensal CEC (CECWT) or probiotic Nissle 1917 (NissleWT) E. coli strain. Mono-colonized mice, CECWT and NissleWT, were sacrificed 21 days post-inoculation and the ileal and colonic gene expression profiles analyzed by high-throughput qPCR using TaqMan OpenArrays. qPCR gene expression profiling. Ileal mucosafrom germfree mice were used as control. Equal amount total RNA from each mouse was pooled prior to gene expression analysis.
