Photograph of East Hollywood taken from Mount Olive, ca.1895. Two men in dark suits and bowler hats stand on the mountain, one of them pointing out at the nearly barren landscape towards what appears to be a church. Apart from this, only five other homesteads are visible. Of them, what appears to be a barn and a grain silo is visible at left. Mountains stretch across the photo behind the town. Picture file card reads: "Barnsdall Park" in parentheses, a park later located above Hollywood Boulevard and Vermont Avenue.
