Over half of Italian consumers want to see and touch grocery products before purchasing them. It is the main barrier to online grocery shopping, according to a 2023 survey. Nearly 40 percent of shoppers stated they simply prefer the shopping experience at the supermarket over e-commerce websites, while 37 percent of respondents acknowledged in-store grocery shopping as an established habit.
