Household plastic packaging collected for recycling in the UK 2021, by type

An estimated 606,000 metric tons of household plastic packaging were collected in the United Kingdom in 2021. Plastic bottles accounted for roughly 67 percent of this total, at over 400,000 metric tons. Meanwhile, the volume of plastic films and flexibles collected from UK households that year amounted to 27,000 metric tons.
