资源简介:

The feeling of loneliness in old age has become one of the most significant socio-psychological problems of modern society, especially in countries undergoing rapid demographic and cultural transformation. In Uzbekistan, where traditional family values and intergenerational relations have historically occupied an important place in social life, the issue of loneliness among elderly people is becoming increasingly relevant due to urbanization, migration processes, changing lifestyles, and the weakening of traditional support mechanisms. The psychological state of older adults is closely connected with emotional stability, social communication, health status, economic security, and the level of participation in family and community life. Loneliness in old age is not only an emotional condition but also a complex psychological and social phenomenon that influences cognitive activity, self-esteem, physical health, and quality of life. Scientific studies demonstrate that elderly individuals who experience long-term social isolation often face depression, anxiety, reduced motivation, memory decline, chronic stress, and decreased social adaptation. The issue becomes especially important in the context of increasing life expectancy and the growth of the elderly population. Uzbek pedagogical and psychological literature emphasizes that respect for elders, family solidarity, and community support are essential cultural mechanisms that help reduce emotional isolation in later life. Nevertheless, modernization processes and labor migration have created new social realities in which many elderly people remain alone for long periods of time, lacking regular emotional interaction with family members. This scientific article analyzes the psychological, social, cultural, and pedagogical dimensions of loneliness in old age on the basis of Uzbek scientific and educational literature. The article examines the causes and consequences of loneliness, the influence of family relationships, the role of communication and social participation, psychological adaptation during aging, emotional resilience, and methods of social and pedagogical support for elderly individuals. Special attention is devoted to the importance of intergenerational dialogue, moral education, psychological counseling, social activity, and community-based assistance in improving the emotional well-being of older adults. The research also highlights the significance of state social policy and educational initiatives aimed at strengthening social inclusion and psychological support for the elderly population.
