Dual RNA-Seq during apple-Penicillium expansum interaction. Penicillium expansum strain:CECT 20906

We analyzed the transcriptome of both apple fruits and Penicillium expansum during the interaction using Dual RNA-Seq. RNA-Seq data were generated from four different cDNA libraries: a library was synthesized from a mixture of RNAs from P. expansum spores collected after 7 days of growth in potato dextrose agar and control non-wounded apples, and three libraries from P. expansum-infected apples at 24,48, and 72 h post inoculation, respectively. Fruit inoculation and RNA extraction were conducted following procedures previously described by Sánchez-Torres P and González-Candelas L (2003). cDNA libraries were generated using the MINT-Universal cDNA synthesis kit (Evrogen) following the manufacturer’s protocol. Sequencing was carried out using the Roche 454 GS FLX Titanium system.
