Breakdown of investors in the French sovereign green bond by geographical origin 2018

Following the Paris Climate Agreement, Agence France Trésor launched its first sovereign green bond, the Green OAT on 24 June 2017. The Green OAT is a fixed-income instrument that is specifically earmarked to raise money for climate and environmental projects. The French sovereign green bond has a diversified investor base in terms of asset type but also in terms of geographical origin. It appears that French investors accounted for 29 percent of the investor base for the French green OAT in 2018.
