Wave measurement instrumentation field test data from 20230328 to 20240423 (NCEI Accession 0311837)

This data set contains field test data from two field tests conducted to test the wave measurement performance capabilities of three instruments, a microwave radar water level sensor, a Sofar Spotter Buoy, and a Sofar Spotter Buoy Smart Mooring System. The field tests took place in 2023 and 2024 in the Chesapeake Bay near the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel. The data set also includes measurements from an Acoustic Wave and Current profiler that was used as a reference. The AWAC was located on the seafloor at approximately 16 m depth at 37.0334N and 76.0836W. The radar was located on the bridge at a height of 8-10m, 37.0315N and 76.0853W. The Sofar buoys were moored at 37.0341N and 76.0856W.
These datasets have not been quality controlled and should only be used to study the performance of the sensors. They are not intended to be used outside of this scope.
