Survey Dataset: Trustworthy Mobile Forensic Tools This repository contains the complete experimental package accompanying the manuscript "Trustworthy Mobile Forensic Tools: A Survey with Practitioners." The package has been prepared following Open Science principles to support transparency, reproducibility, and reuse of the reported research. The repository includes the survey protocol, questionnaire, anonymized dataset, descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, qualitative coding artifacts, thematic analysis materials, generated figures and tables, and supplementary documentation required to reproduce the study. It also provides the coding scheme adopted during the thematic analysis, intermediate analysis artifacts, and additional supporting material not included in the manuscript. The study investigated the perspectives of experienced mobile forensic practitioners regarding forensic tool adoption, trustworthy investigative practices, interoperability, and future technological requirements. Based on the collected evidence, the research proposes a Conceptual Model of Trustworthy Mobile Forensic Ecosystems, identifying four complementary architectural capabilities: Secure Evidence Acquisition, Adaptive Forensic Ecosystem, Intelligent Evidence Analysis, and Evidence Governance, interconnected through interoperability as a cross-cutting architectural capability. All participant data have been fully anonymized before publication. The repository is intended to facilitate independent verification of the reported findings, secondary analyses, replication studies, and future research on mobile digital forensics, trustworthy forensic ecosystems, and empirical software engineering.
