Data set- Neck Disability Index: Sinhalese version

The Neck Disability Index (NDI) is a validated and reliable questionnaire used in assessing pain in the neck region. Its application to Sinhalese population is limited as a validated and cross-culturally adapted NDI -Sinhalese version (NDI-S) is not available. The purpose of the current study was to assess its validity and reliability among Sinhalese individuals with neck pain. This study enrolled hundred patients with neck pain attending the Department of Physiotherapy, Teaching Hospital Peradeniya and National Hospital Kandy. The translation strategy comprised forward translations, reconciliation, backward translation and pre-testing steps. The reliability and validation procedure consisted of exploration of internal consistency, test-retest reliability, convergent validity and factor analysis of the questionnaire
