Thermal Maturity Patterns (CAI and %Ro) in the Ordovician and Devonian Rocks of the Appalachian Basin in New York, USGS/OFR 00-496

This data will allow better modeling of the burial, unroofing and hydrocarbon
generation history for the Appalachian basin in New York, and is part of a
larger, ongoing project which will include data from several adjoining states.

This study enhances existing thermal maturity maps of New York by establishing
new subsurface conodont alteration index (CAI) data points from Ordovician and
Devonian rocks as well as new %Ro and Rock Eval subsurface data points for
Middle and Upper Devonian black shale units. This data is contoured into new
thermal maturity maps of New York.
