Satellite remote sensing reveals climate-driven breeding failure in Greater Flamingos at a Mediterranean hypersaline lake
收藏资源简介:
This repository contains the data and analysis code supporting the manuscript "Satellite remote sensing reveals climate-driven breeding failure in Greater Flamingos at a Mediterranean hypersaline lake", published in Aquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems. The study analyses a 29-year satellite record (1997–2025) of Greater Flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus) breeding success at Tuz Gölü (Lake Tuz), Türkiye, the largest flamingo breeding colony in the Eastern Mediterranean. Using Landsat and MODIS imagery, ERA5-Land climate reanalysis, and CMIP6 climate projections, it identifies breeding-season water loss as the primary correlate of reproductive failure and proposes a dual-threshold framework (hydrological + trophic) for conservation management of drying hypersaline wetlands.
