Massively parallel reporter assay of prostate cancer-associated neomers

Neomers are short DNA sequences that are absent from the human genome but appear due to cancer mutations. Here we tested whether neomers found in multiple prostate tumor genomes (neomers) could affect the function of active gene regulatory elements. We tested 4,609 prostate cancer associated neomers derived from mutations that reside in noncoding regions in a lentivirus-based MPRA to test the regulatory activity with and without the neomer of all these sequences.
