Faba Bean Seed Ground truth Dataset

Description:This dataset provides comprehensive ground truth data for faba bean (Vicia faba L.) seeds. The dataset is structured into three sheets, each containing distinct information:

Mean S2 Seed Data: Contains aggregated morphometric and weight measurements per seed line, including thousand grain weight (TGW), seed area, width, length, circularity, length-to-width ratio, seed volume, and density. This sheet is suitable for statistical analysis and predictive modeling of seed traits.

Individual S2 Seed Data: Provides raw, per-seed measurements derived from image analysis, including length, width, area (in mm² and pixels), circularity, and length-to-width ratio. This sheet enables detailed seed-level analysis and validation of segmentation or phenotyping algorithms.

S2 Seed Meta Data: Contains metadata for each seed line, including lab ID, whether images were taken, seed usability, seed counts (produced, remaining, photographed), comments on seed characteristics, and hilum color. This sheet supports data provenance and quality control.

The dataset was generated using standardized phenotyping and image analysis protocols, ensuring high accuracy and reproducibility. It is intended to support research in plant phenomics, seed morphology analysis, machine learning-based seed trait prediction, and breeding applications.
