De novo assembled transcriptomes of several non-arthropod zooplankton species

Despite the overwhelming diversity of marine zooplankton species and their importance to both the marine ecosystem as well as the global environment, very few of these species have been sequenced, especially non-arthropod zooplankton. Here we present de novo assembled transcriptomes and annotations for the following non-arthropod marine zooplankton species: Aulacantha scolymantha, Bassia bassensis, Globigerinella siphonifera, Globigerinoides ruber, Globigerinoides sacculifer, Heliconoides inflatus, Mecynocera clausi, and Microsetella rosea. This data represents the first sequencing data for these organisms to the best of our knowledge and will be useful for researchers investigating marine zooplankton. The data were assembled from cleaned 2x 150bp paired end RNA-Seq reads extracted from wildtype tissue.
