Novel Object datafile

Raw data collected during novel object trials on both species. Columns represent: Trial- 1st or 2nd trial; Group- territory identifier; Treatment- CON (rock in middle) and EXP (duck in middle); ID- jay's unique color band code; Level- peanuts touching the central object are level 3, the middle peanuts are level 2, the furthest peanuts are level 1; Distance- in meters, how close each jay comes to the central object; Location- side of the duck (T=tail, L=left, R=right, F=front) combined with level ID; Sec- seconds in to the trial that jay approached; Latency- the number of seconds until each separate approach; Response.time- the number of seconds before the first approach; Species- CASJ (California Scrub-Jay) and MEJA (Mexican Jay).
