VPRS 11259 Special Report Records

This series consists of records created or received by the Standing Review and Advisory committee in the research and publication of a series of special reports relating to Invitro Fertilisation (IVF) and infertility issues.These reports were created for the Minister of Health as an information source on current practices, medical procedures, technology and ethical issues relating to IVF and infertility conducted in Victoria, the rest of Australia and overseas.The issues usually concerned the medical procedures that approved hospitals had notified the Committee that they were conducting experimentation in, or were undertaking procedures using new practices.This series contains three basic types of records:- background research material collected in the course of research including the results of research conducted by the Committee and copies of other reports, studies and findings in these areas- submissions sought by or sent to the Committee by relevant bodies such as medical practitioners, IVF and infertility treatment centre patients and ethically concerned organisations; and- a copy of the final report.
