Description of the new species Crocus cobbii. Crocus cobbii KERNDORFF, PASCHE & HARPKE species nova (Liliiflorae, Iridaceae) and its relatives

A new species from the north-western part of the Iberian Peninsula is described as Crocus cobbii. The definition of Crocus cobbii is based on molecular (nrITS, 3 chloroplast markers) and detailed morphological results including the molecularly investigation and morphologically revision of its four relatives C. clusii, C. nudiflorus, C. salzmannii, C. serotinus. In our study we could also place the origin of English C. nudiflorus to the Eastern Pyrenees.
